Caught in a funk, Brenda pretends that she is grounded and backs out of a ski trip with her friends. She finds a diary in her room that belonged to a previous resident. Brenda becomes fascinated by the girl's accounts of the political struggles and her own personal crises in the years 1968 and '69.
