4.20 30 minutes Pat enters Lover Boy, his rooster, at the Carterville Fair. Spencer Baldwin, who sponsors the fair, has been robbed of his jewel collection, and might have to drop his support if he can't find his jewels. An outlaw gang, composed of Doc McCoy, Tom Jenkins, and their boss, Doll, hide the stolen jewels in Lover Boy's cage. When Pat takes the cage away, the outlaws basically try every way in the book to get the rooster. Pat tips Gene when Doc offers $200 for Lover Boy. Lover Boy is kidnapped by the outlaws, and is about to be cut open after they think the fowl ate the jewels. Gene and Pat arrive in the nick of time, and bring the outlaws, and Doll in. Spencer gets his jewels back, and the fair is saved.
