They try to enrich themselves by collaborating with the occupying forces. One of them is Eftin Pasha. He collaborates with Greek General Mihail. With the sultan's decree, he provides unlimited assistance to the general and his soldiers. The general demands all of the villagers' crops and gold. He and his soldiers begin to exploit the people. Those who resist are thrown into prison and executed. Reşo and his brother Veysel, who are from the local community, refuse to give up all of their crops. They decide to organize the people against the pasha and the general.
